This iconic wine is aged for over five winters in a barrel and then bottled, hence the name: Valbuena 5º Año.
Tasting Notes: The crucial first year of ageing takes place in smaller barrels, comprising 75% French oak and 25% American oak. The second year of ageing takes place in large oak vats and, during this stage, the wine gains elegance, complexity, tension and subtlety. Vega Sicilia Valbuena is the perfect balance between elegance, complexity and concentration. Suitable for drinking now, but with the potential to age for 25 years if kept in the right storage conditions.
